Description

Problem

The Cisco router (pfv-rrinfra-rtr) has a failing fan. Console is flooded every 30 seconds with:
%ENVMON-4-FAN_LOW_RPM: Fan 1 service recommended

This makes console access nearly impossible — commands are interrupted by the alarm messages. Could not create the oxidized user on this device due to the flooding.

Impact

  • Cannot configure device via conman (console flooded)
  • Oxidized config backup blocked for this device
  • Risk of overheating if fan fails completely

Scope

  • Replace Fan 1 on the Cisco router (onsite physical work)
  • Verify fan alarm clears
  • Create oxidized user after fan replaced
  • Add to Oxidized for config backup
