Parent: #307 (IT & Facilities Punch List)

Configure trunk ports on pfv-tsys6 and pfv-tsys7 to support RackRental switches.

Design

Servers will run a split network configuration:

  • Half the traffic on the non-RackRental switch/router side (existing mgmt + storage network)
  • Half on the RackRental switch/router side (VLAN 2, 10.251.2.0/24)
  • RackRental router prevents network loops

Scope

  • Configure trunk ports on pfv-tsys6 (R610) for RackRental VLAN
  • Configure trunk ports on pfv-tsys7 (R620) for RackRental VLAN
  • Validate no network loops with split config

Dependencies

  • #432 (RackRental VLAN 2 must exist on router + switches first)
  • #431 (Cisco router fan — blocked)
  • #369 (switch config fixes — LACP, LAG)

Questions (see questions-v1.md Q6)

  • Clarify split: is this per-NIC (one NIC to normal, one to RackRental) or per-VM (some VMs on RackRental network, some on normal)?
